Is a Barrister-at-Law from UK.
Active in Politics since 1968 when he became member of the Communist Party.
Elected ten times as member in Parliament since 1971 till date.
Is a distinguished Parliamentarian for about three and half decades and hence he was honoured with the ‘Outstanding Parliamentarian Award 1996’.
Through his initiative the proceedings of the ‘zero hour’ of Parliament are being telecast live from 5th July, 2004.
Another initiative he took is the launching of two dedicated satellite channels for televising the proceedings of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha from 14th December, 2004.
Actively associated with many socio-cultural, educational and professional institutions and trade unions.
Is an ardent champion of the genuine rights of the working class.
