- Launched Minerva Movitone Company in 1936.
- Minerva Movitone was famous for the triology - Pukar (1939), Sikandar (1941) and Prithvi Vallabh (1943).
- His other famous movies are Jailor (1938), Bharosa (1940), Parakh (1944) and Jhansi-ki-Rani (1953).
- His last famous movie Mirza Ghalib (1954) received President's Gold Medal in 1954.
- Was a member of the jury at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1960.
- Received Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1970.
